Thailand Beaches

 Patong Beach

This is Phuket's central tourist and night time entertainment district. Over the years, Patong has turned from a fishing village into one of the island's two cities. The famous bay and 4 km. beach is know as a centre of entertainment with restaurants catering to every nationality. Live music can be found in most pubs and bars. Accommodations range from budget to five-star. Shopping opportunities appear to be endless. In addition, there are many tour companies waiting to help visitors plan their vacations.

Patong is where you go to have fun with more than hundred bars, discos and nightclubs, or just to meet people from the whole world. There are in fact bigger chance that you meet friends from your home country in Patong than at home.

Railay Beach

The coast in the south of Thailand is a luxurious tropical paradise. Towering limestone cliffs shelter incredible beaches, the most beautiful is Railay.

Isolated from the mainland, the peninsula of Railay is surrounded by the warm Andaman Sea, lush jungle, and twisted rock. It contains enough activities for the most adventurous while allowing those who just want to chill out in paradise the opportunity to do just that.

You can be sure that it will never get uncomfortably crowded in Railay as there are a limited amount of hotel rooms available.

Ao Nang Beach

Krabi is hardly 18 km away from the bay and the bay has some 83 islands scattered around. Each one of these islands are a short distance away from one another. And during low tides, you can even wade your way to the neighboring island. In this sort of a natural set up, there is little shortage for sandy beaches and crystal clear water. But among them all, Ao Nang beach is supposed to be the best.

Ao Nang has the cleanest of environments in the area. This is the most developed beach in the area. The beach is accessible by road from Krabi. Less crowded and more quiet, it gives a more peaceful atmosphere to the tourist than the Krabi.

White Sand Beach

White Sand beach or Had Sai Khao as it is called by the locals, is some 2kilometers in length and although it probably the most developed area of Koh Chang it is still offers a magnificent backdrop of jungle clad mountains, fine powdery white beach sand and spectacular sunsets. It is the most popular place to stay on the Island and offers the most diverse ranging from simple shacks to 5 star luxury units. White Sand Beach is with a doubt the tourist center of the island, a wide variety of restaurants, shopping plaza, mini-markets, Internet café’s, banks and ATM’s which take all sorts of bank and credit cards.

Khao Lak Beach Phang-Nga

Khao Lak, located on Phang Nga province just north of Phuket Island on the gorgeous Andaman seaboard, is one of Thailand's most peaceful resort destinations. No less than three national parks are embraced by the surrounding hills that sweep down to this lovely stretch of coastline with beaches that go on for miles.

Khao Lak offers a rare oasis for relaxation, with a superb combination of cool tropical forest, lovely beachfront accommodation and expansive white sand beaches. And those beaches are more beautiful than ever. Following the tsunami, Khao Lak has made a remarkable recovery with newly refurbished hotels providing a quantity and quality of accommodation never before seen in this area. Revitalised resorts have upgraded their facilities, created more stylish rooms and added ambient features like soothing lotus ponds, serene gardens and infinity pools.

 Karon Beach Phuket

The second largest of Phuket's tourist beaches. Large resort complexes line the road behind of the shoreline, but the long, broad beach itself has no development. The sand is very white, and squeaks audibly when walked upon. The southern point has a fine coral reef stretching toward Kata and Bu Island.

Karon Beach, featuring a long stretch of squeaky white sand, is less hectic than Patong but still offers a full range of facilities, dining and activities. While it's a fast-growing area, Karon is spread out and rarely feels crowded.

Lamai Beach

Lamai Beach, situated a couple of bays to the south of Koh Samui's most famous beach, Chaweng, has long been considered the latter's poor cousin. The beach isn't as long, the off-white sand isn't as fine and the restaurants and bars lack the range and quality of those on Chaweng. That being said, both the guesthouses and resorts are considerably cheaper and Lamai Beach seems never as busy. So for those looking for value for money and smaller crowds, it can be a good choice.

Chaweng Beach

Chaweng Beach remains the most beautiful on the island. Wandering down from your coconut palm-shaded hut to the white-dust sand to the crystal clear water is an unforgettable experience. It's just a shame that today you have such a short window of opportunity to enjoy it - between sunrise and 7am, at the most. After that the deckchairs, vendors, masseurs, jet-skis and other noisy stuff begin their parade and within a few hours, it's a mess. Of course, if you like all that hustle and bustle, you'll love Chaweng.

Bang Saphan Beach Hua Hin

Bang Saphan is a sleepy beach town on the Gulf of Thailand, it can be reached from Bangkok, 380km away, in approximately 5 hours by road. There are actually two Bangsaphan's; Bangsaphan Noi and Bangsaphan Yai (meaning big and small when translated from Thai). We will focus on the larger since not a lot happens in the smaller.

There are several local attractions including Koh Talu where day trips are popular. We also have a detailed accommodation guide listing Bangsaphan hotels, resorts, guesthouses and bungalows.
