Bobby's Arms( Bars & Pubs) |
This is a popular pub for both local and visiting Anglophile and
pubophiles, serving solid English food and a lively banter of expat
gossip. On Sunday from 8 to 11pm, a Dixieland band plays, and more
low-key singers and musicians entertain Friday and Saturday nights.

|
Bubbles |
This pricey place, in one of the city's top hotels, attracts an
older expat crowd mixed with high-fashion yuppies, known as "Tuppies."
It's a dead zone during the week, but jumping on Friday and Saturday
nights.

Cheers Pub (Bars & Pubs) |
This is one of our favorite bars in a hotel. On our visit, a
Filipino band was doing great covers of popular Western music. The
regular crowd of expats and Thais from the nearby business district
gives it a local and cheerful ambience.

|
Rome Club |
One of the most popular discos for cosmopolitan Thais, expats, and
visiting Westerners. Most of the local clientele are young, some
straight, some gay, and everyone has a fine time. The marble dance
floor is surrounded by video monitors and the usual array of moving
lights. The Rome's quieter coffee bar across the street is its own
scene for those who tire of the music.

|
The Nile Club |
More of a nightclub than a disco, this is an extremely popular
Asian-style dance club, where local party animals enjoy live dance
bands.
|
|
Round Midnight Pub (The Club & Music Scene) |
Off Ploenchit Road, north of Lumpini Park, is a club that reminds us
a bit of Santa Fe, with vines added for a tropical touch. There's a
supply of American and European music with videos, then comes a live
band mixing cool pop, soul, and funk with jazz. Popular with expats.

Zaza Party House |
A current favorite among the Thai teenage and college crowd. The DJs
spin good disco/rap/classic tunes, the beat emphasized by the "body
sonic" system that drives the bass notes through the floor and up
into your body. It's a fun place to dance or watch the scene in
stylish New Mexican-style surroundings.
