Entertainment opportunities extend from
Nightclubs, karaoke lounges, discotheques, pubs to cineplexes. The
entertainment hub of Malaysia is undoubtedly the capital city of Kuala
Lumpur, which is also the economic and spiritual hub of the nation. When
the sun goes down is when the bright lights of this bustling city come
aglow and it shows a whole new side of life in the city. This is when KL
throbs with the pulsating rhythm of its night life. Another city of
equal thumping excitement is in Penang which enjoys a lively night scene
with larger hotels having cocktail lounges, dining, dancing and cultural
shows. Almost every town in the country boasts of a cinema or a cineplex.
Malaysia’s only government licensed casino can be found at Genting
Highlands. Gambling is not allowed anywhere else in the country. To gain
access to the casino dressing is relatively formal and patrons must be
over 21 years of age. Muslims are not allowed in the Casino.
Live theatre performances by local and foreign artistes are popular
pastimes for both the local crowd and visitors. These are performed
mainly in English and occasionally in local dialects.
In major towns, you can take a City Night Tour which, among other
things, will enable you to have a typical Malaysian meal before you
settle down to watch a cultural show.
