Hong Kong has a monsoon influenced humid subtropical climate. Just shoted of being a tropical wet-and-dry climate Hong Kong experiences distinct four seasons. Hong Kong influenced by the subtropical cyclone has much typhoon and rain in summer. The annual average temperature is 22.8 °C, and the max temperature can reach 33 °C; the min temperature is 3 °C, and the mountain top is -3 °C. The annual rain fall of Hong Kong is 2224.7 mm.
Hong Kong spring consist three months started from March and ended in May. Spring is soupy in the mornings, and warm in daytimes, and cool at nights. There are many rainfalls in the spring and the humidity is 84%. In March and April, there are occasional spells of high humidity. Fog and drizzle can be particularly troublesome on the high ground. Some times the air traffic and ferry services are occasionally disrupted because of reduced visibility.
Hong Kong summer is hot and humid with occasional showers and thunderstorms, especially during the mornings. Summer consists of four months started from June and ended in September. The annual average temperature in summer is 28 °C. Summer in Hong Kong is most likely to be affected by subtropical cyclones from the western North Pacific or China seas. June, July and August are three months with most rainfalls. The rainfall in these three months is 75% of the whole year rainfall.
Hong Kong autumn holds about two months started from October and ended to November. The annual average temperature is 23 °C. During autumn, it is often sunny in daytimes and it is cool at nights.
Hong Kong winter possesses about 3 months and the average temperature is 15 °C. In December there are pleasant breezes, plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperature. It is the best moth of the year in Hong Kong. January and February are cloudier with occasional cold fronts followed by dry northerly winds. Snow and frost are unlikely to form as sub-zero Celsius temperatures very rarely occur at sea level.
From November to December is the best time for traveling.
